Traditionally, Maryland's Handgun Qualification License Training is a 4 hour classroom instruction on state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate the ability to safely fire a handgun. **With recent Maryland legislation, students are now able to receive their HQL and Wear and Carry Training simultaneously as long as the same fundamentals are covered. Wear and Carry Permit Training is a 16 hour class broken into two eight hour days. It is an extension of the Handgun Qualification License Training that covers further instruction on state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy. All Wear and Carry courses come with a complimentary range session. A range pass will be provided at the end of training and can be used within 1 year of the class or used toward a range purchase. ($20 value) Right On Target is an approved Maryland State Qualified Handgun Instructor. Once your application is approved, your permit is valid for 3 years.
